EDUCATION COMMITTEE

Coordinates educational events for Chapter members and works in conjunction with other events, such as the National AALNC Conference. Coordinates speaking engagements with medical and legal professionals, maintains CEUs (Continuing Education Units), organizes the catering of food, development of flyers, and handout information, prepares the presentation equipment, and attends the registration desk at the event.

MARKETING COMMITTEE

Reaches into the nursing, medical, and legal communities to for the promotion of AALNC. Review and organize information for updates to San Diego Chapter website, and communicates such information to the chapter’s webmaster. This committee is also responsible for obtaining and organizing ads for the membership directory, supervision of the publication of the membership directory, and the development and maintenance of products to be sold by the chapter at local events, the National conference or online via our website.

MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE

Maintains membership data. Sends out applications and renewal information for membership, ensures membership requirements are met, maintains the membership roster, and sends out announcements. This committee is also responsible for the maintenance of the list of e-mail addresses for current chapter members and acts as liaison between Listserv’s hosting company and chapter members, regarding service issues.

PHILANTHROPY COMMITTEE

Organizes and coordinates charitable events and donations to needy organizations. This committee is dedicated to promoting the welfare of others. “Philanthropy With Heart” has assisted with such projects as: Children of Chernobyl Foundation, an Orphanage in Mexico and Rachel’s House (serving women in need).

PUBLICATIONS COMMITTEE

Publishes quarterly newsletter and submits news articles for the national newsletter and the chapter website. The San Diego Chapter newsletter, Medi-Legal Links, was the first newsletter of its type, and has national recognition within AALNC for its excellence. It has been used as an example for other chapters interested in publishing their own newsletter.

SOCIAL COMMITTEE

Responsible for planning and coordinating chapter social events including the spring social, the holiday party and Chapter Night. Plans and coordinates the chapter's participation in Chapter Night, an annual event held at the national conference. Attends chapter event reception table to greet members and welcome guests.
