Dr. Ana-Maria Gallo has been a registered nurse since 1990. Her nursing career has focused primarily in obstetrics. Her clinical background experienced includes labor & delivery, OB triage, antenatal testing and high risk OB. In addition to clinical experience she practiced as a Perinatal Clinical Nurse Specialist at Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Woman and has taught maternal-child health classes at both Point Loma Nazarene University and the University of San Diego. Currently she is the Director of Nursing Education, Research and Professional Development at Sharp Grossmont Hospital.
Dr. Gallo attended Point Loma Nazarene University where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She has completed her Masters and Doctoral degree at the University of San Diego and completed a post-doctorate fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco. In addition to her current role Dr. Gallo serves as adjunct faculty at San Diego State University and at the University of Phoenix, San Diego campus.
She is an active member of several professional organizations such as Association of Women’s health Obstetrics and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN), Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, and the American Association of Legal Nurse consultant. She presents both locally and nationally on perinatal topics and has been published.
